iPod nano or Sandisk View?

Hi all

I really need an advice. I'm picking the new years present, and I chose to give an MP3 player. I now need an advice. The choice came down to 2 possible players: an Apple iPod nano (3rd generation) or the new Sandisk View. I would buy each of the players with 8Gb of memory. Here are the pro's and cons of each:

Apple iPod nano:

Pros'

  • Excellent design
  • Small and light
  • Excellent user interface
  • Acceptable quality with good earphones
Cons'
  • Slightly more expensive than Sansa
  • Much smaller screen
  • Works only with iTunes
Sandisk Sansa View:

Pros':
  • Slightly cheaper than an iPod
  • Big screen
  • Nice design
  • In-built FM radio and voice/radio recorder
  • MicroSD expansion slot
  • Adding stuff into the player manually (without any additional software)
Cons':
  • Much bigger and heavier than an iPod
  • Quite old user interface
  • Heavy
It is not intended to be a bashing contest, just asking for help for choosing the better one.

Thanks a bunch.

ipod. It's not about the size of the screen in this case, it's about the resolution. The new nanos are some of the highest pixel-per-inch devices available. If you have the extra few dollars, it's definitely worth it for the extra definition, even if you have to hold it a couple inches closer to your face.

Besides, I have worked with the Sansas, and their interface software is *terrible*.
